Best Products to Lose Weight
As a follow up to my last article about shedding unwanted weight before summer, I thought I’d tackle a problem I’m sure we almost all face when trying to lose weight. I’m talking about the dreaded plateau! Nothing is more frustrating than working hard, losing weight, eating right, losing weight, working hard & eating right and then…NOTHING. Maybe you see no change in your weight for a couple of weeks, despite not having changed your routine. I’ve been there and sometimes I’ve given up and other times I persisted, but with a little help. In this article I’m going to discuss some of the best products to lose weight if you need a little assistance.
I decided to go to Dr. Oz for some recommendations for the best products to lose weight, since weight loss is something he talks about a lot on his show. The first thing I found on his website was an article talking about using green coffee beans to help burn fat. The article was written by Lindsey Duncan, a registered dietician, who is suspicious of products claiming to help with “easy” or “fast” weight loss. He goes on to talk about the results the green coffee bean had in a recent study that was published in the Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity journal. The study included 16 adults who took the green coffee bean over a 12 week period of time. At the end of the study, the group lost an average of 17 pounds each! There were also no reported side effects, which is always reassuring. Duncan goes on to explain how green coffee beans actually work, and it has nothing to do with caffeine if you believe it! Chlorogenic acid is the key ingredient in the green coffee bean, and what it does it inhibit the release of glucose in the body. It also believed to boost a person’s metabolism which can help reduce weight gain. Duncan recommends finding capsules that are 400 mg of pure green coffee bean (try to avoid fillers or binders) and to take two pills 2-3 times a day, before your meals.
Dr. Oz was quoted in an article in First for Women magazine as saying African Mango is a “miracle in your medicine cabinet that can help you lose 10 pounds.” The African Mango has been used in Camaroon for centuries for many various medicinal purposes, and it’s only recently been considered one of the best products to lose weight. A study that was published in the Lipids in Health and Disease journal reported “subjects who took 150mg of this African mango seed extract twice a day showed "significant improvements" in their body weight, body fat, and waist circumference, as well as a slew of numbers that indicate better heart health, including plasma total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, blood glucose, C-reactive protein, adiponectin, and leptin levels.” Additionally, there doesn’t appear to be any negative side effects to using African Mango.
Lastly I’ll talk about Raspberry Ketones, which Dr. Oz called the “#1 miracle in a bottle to burn your fat”. In other words, it is a fabulous product to lose weight. The way this product works is it helps to regulate adiponectin, which is a hormone that helps to regulate your body’s metabolism. When someone takes Raspberry Ketones, their body starts to secrete more adiponectin and higher levels of this hormone are linked to lower levels of fat on your body. Raspberry Ketones also helps your body burn fat quicker by breaking up the fat in each of your cells into smaller pieces, which allows your body to get rid of it easier. The recommended dosage for this product is 100 mg/day. Again, this product has no reported side effects, which makes it one of the best products to lose weight that’s out there today.
Of course, I don’t believe there’s any kind of magic pill or supplement you can take that will make you healthy! Sure, it might help you lose a little weight, but if you aren’t eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly, that weight will just come back (and sometimes even more then you originally lost!) So, while I talk about these things that are supposed to help someone lose weight, I think we all know it’s smart to combine these things with a healthy diet and exercise routine for the best results.
